Dori Yacono is a memoirist, educator, and lifelong seeker of truth through words. Her writing is rooted in lived experience—stories shaped by survival, resilience, love, loss, and the quiet power of moving forward. After years of teaching and raising a family, she found her voice on the page, unearthing truths long held in silence. Her debut memoir, Bent but Not Broken: Surviving Silence, explores the complexity of trauma and the strength it takes to heal. When she’s not writing, she finds comfort in a warm cup of tea, long walks, photography, and creating beauty in quiet corners of the world. She currently lives in Shanghai, where she teaches and continues to write the stories that shaped her.
